01/06/2023 - The Art of Reselling: How to Turn a Profit by Buying and Selling Products

If you have an eye for a good deal and a knack for spotting trends, reselling might be the perfect side hustle for you. Reselling is the act of buying products at a low price and selling them for a higher price, and it can be a lucrative business if you know what you're doing.

One of the keys to successful reselling is finding good sources for products. Flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales are all great places to find items that you can resell. You can also try looking for wholesale deals or negotiating with manufacturers or distributors for bulk pricing.

Once you've found a good source of products, it's important to do your research and determine the market value of the items you're planning to resell. You can use online marketplaces like eBay or Amazon to see how similar products are being sold, or you can check out auction sites to see what items are going for.

In addition to researching market values, it's also a good idea to have a clear idea of your target audience. Who are you selling to, and what are they interested in? By understanding your audience, you can tailor your product selection and marketing efforts to appeal to their interests and needs.

Marketing is an important part of the reselling process. You'll need to create listings for your products on online marketplaces or create your own website to sell them. It's also a good idea to use social media to promote your products and reach a wider audience.

Finally, it's important to be prepared for the business side of reselling. This includes setting prices, managing your inventory, and handling shipping and returns. It's also a good idea to track your expenses and profits so you can see how your business is doing.

Reselling can be a fun and rewarding way to earn extra money, and with a little bit of know-how and some hard work, you can turn it into a successful business. So if you're ready to give it a try, start looking for good sources of products and get started today

12/28/2022 - The Mrs BDay

Now that Xmas is over, the day is my wife's birthday. It's tough on her because, with her day being so close to Xmas, she kinda gets the shaft when it comes to celebrating.

Now the the Xmas holiday is over, I am now focusing more on the store. Posting more items, buying more supplies/goods, and making sure that we get things out on time. I usually close things down the last couple of weeks during the year because of the USPS and unexpected weather events. This year, I reopened everything Xmas day and so far, it's been worth it. But, I know we can do better.

I'm currently debating my arrangement with Mercari after some messed up transactions last night so if you see something there, check out Ebay or Poshmark instead.

That being said, I wish you all a Happy New Year ahead!

11/23/2022 - Thanksgiving

Ah, Thanksgiving. It's that time of year for family and being thankful. My home is not ready for guests and not sure how we will get there. I guess we will see. Last year, I sat down to watch football and somehow ended up watching some movie that really didn't interest me. I guess that I lost that one.

I'm debating if we will close the store 12/15/2022. We normally close during this time since we can't guarantee when stuff will be delivered. Being that 12/15-12/25 are the busiest shipping days of the year, I don't want any disappointment nor upset customers. I'm open to your thoughts; let me know.

From those of us at The Store Downstairs, we wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!

08/08/2022 - Our First Blog.

How's everyone doing? We took a little family vacation recently to recharge and refocus. I don't think that some get it, I work pretty much 7 days a week so spending a day sight seeing isn't what I call relaxing but, it is what it is.

Now that we are back, we are refocusing our effort to bring you items that cost a fraction of full retail. Some items are customer returns while others are new bought either through a broker, wholesale, or direct. And, as usual, if it doesn't work or is missing items, we won't list it. It's that simple.

Since we do this on the side, most of our time in the evenings is spent relaxing with a little posting here and there as time permits. The weekend is when we get the most done. For reference, we have a couple hundred items being sent to us now or are already here and not yet available. Some new, some returns; we will have to see.

Stay tuned and thank you for your time and patronage. Make it a great week!
